AutoTop Tips for Keeping Your Car Interior Clean!

When it comes to looking after your car, you might be a regular when it comes to washing, polishing and waxing your vehicle on the drive every Sunday morning, but the interior of your car is rarely given as much love and attention.

It is very easy for a car interior to start to look scruffy and dirty, so we have put together our top tips to make sure that the interior of your car is as gleaming as the exterior. Well let’s move to some tips for keeping you Car Interior Clean.

Keep On Top Of Things

As with any situation, not keeping on top of things always makes them worse, so make sure you are cleaning the inside of your car as frequently as the outside. This ensures that it remains a much lighter task and prevents the build up of too much rubbish and dirt.

Simply ensure that surfaces are wiped down, rubbish is removed, and fabrics are vacuumed to ensure that your car is always looking its best.

Car Mats

The dirtiest part of any car interior is always the floor. Whether you have played football, walked the dog or simply taken the kids on the school run, it can be surprising how much mud, grass and debris can be dragged into your car in just a short space of time.

That is why it is important to have good quality car mats in your car to protect your carpet. They not only provide a barrier between your floor and your feet, but they can also guard against mould, mildew and unpleasant odours.

A good quality car mat can make cleaning your car a much easier process as they can simply be removed and then wiped or vacuumed as necessary. Choose between carpet mats or rubber ones to protect your car as well as possible depending on how you use it.

Vacuum Regularly

It is surprising how much dust and dirt can get into little corners, not to mention crumbs, so make sure you vacuum the inside of your car on a regular basis. You should make sure that you get under the chairs and into and crevices to avoid a build up of debris that becomes harder to clear.

Seat Covers

Your seats can be another part of your car that suffer greatly when it comes to dirt but are often overlooked in the cleaning process. Child car seats are often the worst offenders as they are constantly being dragged in and out of the car and are often left on the floor or out in the rain, or have dirt sprinkled from the little fingers that are within them.

A seat cover is a great way to protect your car from this. They fit neatly over the seat and can protect the fabric from dirt and damage or marks. It is then much easier to remove and wash them than it is to clean the upholstery of your car seat or get it repaired.

Car Sanitiser

We have all become used to using sanitiser over the last couple of years, so why not try applying it to your car too? Car sanitiser can be a great way to tackle the bad smells and bacteria that can start to build up in your car over time. Simply let the can fill the car with sanitiser and it will circulate throughout the interior killing germs and restoring that new car smell.

Keeping the inside of your car clean will help it feel fresh and new, and substantially help in selling it for the highest value when the time comes to move on, so make sure you get scrubbing.
