It is every player’s dream to be a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While some players (emerging as well as experienced) fetch a high price tag, there are many who even find buyers at their minimum base prices in the IPL auction each season. The expensive players often find themselves under pressure trying to justify their price tag and those who fetched a lesser amount have gone on to prove themselves thereby getting a decent or a phenomenal hike than what they were paid in the previous edition of the IPL.
The IPL 2022 is no different either and even though the mega auction of this season later in the month will complete all formalities and the IPL schedule is yet to be finalized, there have been a few players who have already must have laughed their way to the bank by getting more money than what they had got in last year’s IPL. Notably, the past editions of the tournament saw fans following IPL live score even during their packed schedule.

Players whose salaries increased the most in IPL 2022
Venkatesh Iyer:

Venkastesh Iyer had not attained the fame and fortune in the first leg of IPL 2021 but, revived Kolkata Knight Riders’ campaign in the second leg with his blistering performances opening the innings that left the opposition leagues shell-shocked. Iyer scored 370 runs from 10 matches and also chipped in with three scalps as KKR, who were languishing at the seventh position before the tournament’s indefinite postponement, finished as the finalists. Iyer has been retained by the two-time winners for a sum of INR 8 crore for IPL 2022 i.e. 40 times more than the last season where he was paid INR 20 lakh.
Ruturaj Gaikwad:

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been one of the biggest finds of the Chennai Super Kings. While his consistent batting performances was a silver lining the dark cloud in an otherwise forgettable 2020 campaign for CSK, he bettered his performance in IPL 2021 and finished as the leading run-scorer with 635 runs from all 16 matches to win the IPL Orange Cap. The Pune cricketer’s hard work has reaped fruits and he has been offered INR 6 crore by the defending champions for IPL 2022 i.e. 30 times more than what he had earned in the last season where he was offered INR 20 lakh.
Arshdeep Singh:

Arshdeep Singh was one of the standout performers for the Punjab Kings in IPL 2021 even though they failed to make the playoffs. The left-arm pacer has been one of the consistent performers for the franchise ever since he had first burst in to the scene in IPL 2019. He finished last season with 18 wickets from 12 games as a result of which the 2014 finalists not only retained him but also offered him a salary hike. Arshdeep has been offered INR 4 crore for IPL 2022 which is 20 times more than what he was offered in the previous year (INR 20 lakh).
Mayank Agarwal:

Just like Arshdeep Nath, PBKS have also retained one of their star batters Mayank Agarwal along with giving him a hike in salary. Agarwal provided brisk starts to the Punjab franchise with his explosive performances and finished the season with 441 runs from 12 outings. The 2014 runners-up have paid him a sum of INR 12 crore for IPL 2022 which is 12 times more than what he had earned last year (INR 1 crore).
Abdul Samad:

Abdul Samad is one of the players to have been retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Even though the Jammu & Kashmir batter could only manage 111 runs from 11 games last season, he impressed one and all with his ability to take risks and score at a brisk rate especially at the death. The 2016 champions have offered Samad INR 4 crores for IPL 2022 which is 20 times higher than his base price in IPL 2021 where he was paid INR 20 lakh.
